CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: Jimmy Stewart Video Essay Showcase
The Jimmy Stewart Museum invites all interested video essayists to submit audiovisual scholarship to its inaugural Video Essay Showcase. The panel will consider works on any theme or concept that relates to the life and/or work of Hollywood actor James Stewart (1908-1997).
Selected submissions will be featured on the Museum website, and video essayists will be invited to collectively present their work at a virtual symposium to take place in May 2024 (date TBD). Video essays may also be added to the Museum’s programming, to be paired with relevant feature(s) scheduled as weekly screenings on-site. Recent and current offerings can be found here.
Video essays of any length will be considered, but only works up to 10 minutes long can be screened alongside feature films at the Museum.
For full consideration, submissions must include:
● At least one notice within the video that reads: “For Study Purposes Only”
● English language audio and/or subtitles
● A source list for films, media clips, and other audiovisual materials included in the
video essay
● References (if any) listed in addition to audiovisual sources
● Copyright-free music
