Latrobe Art Center Artist Spotlight

Jonelle Summerfield

Jonelle Summerfield's journey into the world of art is a testament to the profound influence of her surroundings and personal connections. Growing up in the picturesque town of Indiana, PA, not far from Latrobe Art Center, she was immersed in a rich cultural environment that nurtured her creative spirit. Her academic pursuit of Interior Design at the University of Indiana in Pennsylvania provided a solid foundation, but it was her mother's gentle guidance that ignited her passion for painting.

Transitioning from pastels to oil paints, Jonelle discovered a medium through which she could express her unique perspective on the world. Drawing inspiration from her travels, personal interests, and beloved feline companions, her artwork exudes a sense of authenticity and depth. Jonelle's distinctive style, characterized by its realism and figurative elements, captivates viewers with its intricate details and emotive resonance.

Exhibiting her work in prominent cities like Pittsburgh and New York City, Jonelle aspires to spread positivity and solace through her art, offering a glimpse of beauty amidst life's tumultuous journey.

Join the Latrobe Art Center on March 9th & 10th for Jonelle’s “Still Life Oil Painting” workshop!
